Biography
My name is Megan Thorne, I am a commercial photographer in Evansville, IN, I currently work as a staff photographer for Shoe Carnival but photograph fine art and fashion with feminist themes when I'm not shooting shoes. I graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Art (Photography Emphasis). My journalism background helps me capture a storytelling element in my images, and drives my passion to bring attention to topics that I feel need to be addressed.
My recent work focuses on feminism, gender roles, nudity, and fashion. As a female artist, I believe it is my job to bring attention to female issues and make the viewer look within themselves. Throughout the past decade the words “feminist” and “feminism” have been given a negative connotation and are often misinterpreted. To me, feminism is fighting for equality for women, whether at the workplace, in the courtroom, or on the street.

That being said, I think it is also important for my client's vision to shine through in portraiture, senior pictures, family photos and monumental events, like weddings. everyone is different and no one should be photographed the same.

I want my photographs to communicate the ideas and feelings I put into them, and aim for my photos to elicit feelings and emotions by conveying realism and capturing life itself. I am drawn to collecting images of topics that I believe deserve a voice.
Let's photograph together.
